Dolphins to hire Bobby Slowik as offensive coordinator

0

Bobby Slowik interviewed with the Eagles for their offensive coordinator vacancy this week, but he won’t be joining Nick Sirianni’s staff.

Slowik will be staying in Miami instead. According to multiple reports, the Dolphins are hiring Slowik as their offensive coordinator.

It’s the second coordinator hire that new head coach Jeff Hafley has made since getting the job. They are also hiring Chris Tabor as their special teams coordinator.

Slowik spent the 2025 season as the Dolphins’ senior passing game coordinator. He was the Texans’ offensive coordinator in 2023 and 2024.

Slowik worked with quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Quinn Ewers during the 2025 season, but Hafley and new General Manager Jon-Eric Sullivan have not shared their quarterback plans for 2026 yet.

KLM Has Cancelled Flights To The Middle East Through Monday (January 26, 2026) & Refuses To Rebook Passengers

0

KLM has cancelled flights from Amsterdam to Dubai, Riyadh, Dammam, and Tel Aviv, as a precaution until Monday.

KLM has decided NOT to rebook passengers on flights operated by other carriers in violation of the European Air Passenger Rights EC 261/2004.

You can access KLM here.

KLM’s Announcement:

Statement situation Middle East

Due to the geopolitical situation, KLM is currently avoiding the airspace of Iran, Iraq and Israel as a precaution, as well as the airspace over several countries in the Gulf region. This means that, until further notice, we will not be operating flights to Dubai, Riyadh, Dammam and Tel Aviv.

Passengers whose flight has been canceled have been informed. KLM has decided not to rebook passengers onto flights on 24 or 25 January, as other airlines are also canceling flights to the Middle East.

Passengers will be rebooked as soon as possible. Passengers who choose not to travel can request a voucher or a full refund. We continue to monitor the situation.

Amsterdam – Tel Aviv Flight Availability January 25, 2026

Amsterdam – Dubai Flight Availability January 25, 2026

European Union Air Passenger Rights

KLM may determine that they don’t want to fly to these four destinations in the Middle East, but it doesn’t affect their rebooking and Duty to Care rights per EC 261/2004.

It is KLM’s responsibility to provide accommodation and meals to passengers whose flights they have cancelled, and rebook them at the earliest opportunity to their destination.

There are flights to these destinations, some directly from Amsterdam, so there is no excuse not to rebook passengers.

Conclusion

Air France-KLM Group’s Air France also cancelled some flights yesterday, but today’s flight to Dubai is going ahead, unlike KLM’s.

Let’s hope that KLM promptly rebooks thousands of passengers whose flights it has cancelled and also provides the required Duty to Care.

Southwest Ends Open Seating Tuesday — Subway Pays $20 For Middle Seat Selfies

0

For one day only – coinciding with Southwest Airlines eliminating open seating which is a key part of what made it unique – anyone submitting a selfie in an airline middle seat gets a $20 Subway gift card.

There are… a total of 737 gift cards available on January 27 (Southwest flies only Boeing 737s), it’s first-come first-served, and it’s open to anyone 18 years old or older in the U.S. Just submit a photo of yourself in an airplane middle seat (any airline) taken that day, and as long as it reasonably shows you between two seats with both armrests and seats on either side, you should get the gift card (if there are any left). Your face doesn’t have to be visible.

You register with name, e-mail address, date of birth and phone number, do SMS two-factor authentication, and upload the image. Gift cards get emailed after validation within 48 hours. They say they may check image metadata to confirm the date the photo was taken, or do a visual plausibility check if metadata isn’t available.

They’re calling the middle seat the “Sandwich Seat” “perhaps on a blue, red and yellow 737.”

Subway is hardly the first to reward you for being in the middle seat. For instance,

  • Virgin Australia has its “Middle Seat Lottery” in 2022 and 2023, with weekly prizes for those who sat in a middle seat on a Virgin Australia domestic flight. They received about a quarter million entries for prizes like Tokyo flights and 250,000 Velocity frequent flyer points.
  • Spirit Airlines offered 5,000 “Lucky Seat” miles to middle seat passengers.

So the middle seat can be better! Sometimes customers actually choose middle seats when there are aisles and windows open which seems insane, except there are hidden benefits to middle seats like moral rights to both armrests.

Southwest’s move to assigned seating is going to end all the game theory for keeping an open seat next to you – and end the catfishing trick where a woman asks a man seated in a row whether someone was sitting in the middle seat, and when invited to sit there she has her boyfriend sit down.

The OM System OM-3 just hit a new record-low price – is this stylish retro camera low-key an excellent value buy now?

0

We’ve always been big fans of the OM System OM-3 here at TechRadar. We love its looks, computational features, and versatile selection of lenses. At $2,000, however, we did think that it was a pricey buy versus some of the competition.

The camera is now listed at $1,699 at Adorama today, which is a brand new record-low price for the body-only. It’s a deal that beats the previous record from Black Friday by $100, in fact.

Fujifilm X-T50 and Fujifilm X-E5 – both of which are carrying the brand’s latest 40.2MP sensor. In comparison, the OM-3 doesn’t boast anywhere near as much resolution, and you’re also lacking support for 6K video and Fujifilm‘s famous film sim recipes.

It’s a closer run thing than you would think, however. If you don’t need that resolution, for example, then the stacked sensor in the OM-3 is a real selling point. Not only does it enable handy little tools like Live ND and Live GND, but you get 50fps burst rates and very minimal rolling shutter in video. If you need more resolution, then there’s also the option to use the 50MP hand-held high-res feature, which works well for static scenes.

In short, it’s very easy to recommend the OM-3 as a versatile photography option because you can leave the filters and tripod at home. That’s particularly good for landscape or travel photographers, but I think street photographers will also appreciate the OM-3’s wide selection of excellent (and relatively cheap) Micro Four Thirds lenses.

Vogue has declared boyfriends embarrassing, and the inter…

Having a boyfriend no longer puts you at a higher step on the social ladder than staying single, as per the Vogue opinion piece by Chanté Joseph. But the article has hit a nerve online—in the best way.

68999

If you’ve ever posted a photo of your partner online and wrote “dinner with this one” as the caption, then you’re embarrassing, sorry. It wasn’t my call; it was Vogue’s. These days, in order for women to ‘have it all,’ we actually don’t need that to include a boyfriend. And if there is a partner on the scene, it’s preferred that they stay behind the show curtain at all times. They’re on lighting, not centre stage.

The Vogue article ‘Is Having A Boyfriend Embarrassing Now?’ by Chanté Joseph has gone viral this week, with the internet debating whether it’s true or not. Defenders of the statement include long-time single girls and those in relationships who only post their partner to Instagram after seven years and an engagement ring. Those who disagree are, well, embarrassing as well.

As per my favourite meltdown by Miranda Hobbes in Sex and the City: “How does it happen that four smart women have nothing to talk about but boyfriends? It’s like seventh grade but with bank accounts. What about us? What we think, we feel, we know. Does it always have to be about them?”

I’m potentially biased when it comes to this topic as someone who has been single for so long, with it reaching the point where you question what a long-term relationship even looks like for you. But this piece by Joseph has resonated with so many people because, as she explains in the article and in a TikTok video, it’s not just those who are single who think being partnered is ‘uncool’ right now. ‘Cool’ girls in relationships agree and keep their boyfriends under wraps as a result.
